Nokia OVI Maps on Vivaz, Satio without hacking the phone.

This Guide is Going to explain to you how to install Nokia Ovi Maps on Satio And Vivaz Smartphones without the need to hack the phone..

1) Download and extract  SISContents

2) Then Download and Extract Ovi Maps

3) Then Open the siscontents file extsis.exe the file you downloaded in first step..

4) Open new file...
 5) then select the sis file which you have extracted in step two

6) Now You Delete All The Signatures Present in the sis File
 7) Now Select Sign Package And Follow The Following Steps
8) Now a new window will pop out to sign the sis file. You need to have a certificate and key file first for your phone. if you have not done it please read my previous post of Get You s60v5 certificate and key form OPDA. If you have the certificate and key files please continue.

9) Now After this close this window and save your new hacked sis file.

Copy the new sisx file To Your Phone.install. and enjoy OVI Maps 3. You Can Add maps by using map loader version 3 or by downloading the map files directly to your memory card.

  4. Hello!!

I 've followed your instructions and got it!! Now I have Ovi Maps on my Vivaz!! THANKS A LOT!! You have a beer waiting for you here in Spain!! XD

I have a question, if i want to change language, how can i do it? I want it in spanish but there is not any option to configure this in the menu.

Do I have to download Ovi Maps file from Nokia Spain and then repeat all the instructions with this file instead with the one i downloaded from this page?

    Thanks again!!!!

  10. It might be that the map files are not properly installed delete the cities folder in the memory card and then re install the maps to the memory card.

  11. Hi, yes deleted all signatures using tools => delete signatures => delete all.
Could it be a software version problem ? my version is R2AA030 02-03-10 custom version R2AA027.
    Thanks.

  12. In step 8, when adding the key and certificate, I left the private key passphrase blank, is this correct?
I used vivaz as the profile name.

    ReplyDelete
  13. The pass phrase should be blank.
reapply for a new certificate from opda.and try again.

  14. This is all fine and working - except that the GPS is as slow as dog cr@p on the Vivaz! I have tried looking for the Assisted GPS option but done get that from the phone for some bizarre reason (only integrated GPS, BT or Network positioning).

Is this correct? do you guys get a good lock very quickly from this?

  15. When you're going to search, tehere are 2 option: "search in map" or "write the direcction". Well, if i choose "search in the map", everything is ok and Ovi works grat, but when i "write the direcction", half times, Ovi shows the message "no results found".

    What can i do?

  16. you have to be online for the search to work properly. goto settings then internet then enter your net settings you have to be in online mode for the search to work properly

  17. Hello,

I have translated the instructions to spanish and linked your blog in a spanish forum.

    Thanks again for your work!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I followed the instructions step by step but get Certificate expired message during installation, the same problem as Charlie mentioned before.
Can you, please, help me with this issue?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hi, do i have to setup anything on the phone after the installation? i.e. everytime it says that internet connection is required..

    ReplyDelete
  20. you have to install the required maps after installation.then you have to go to settings and internet and set your internet settings there. you can use offline internet mode also but then the search wont find some new places.

  21. Nokia has released a new version: 3.04
It has some interesting improvements including speed performance. By default it doesn't work on Vivaz, it needs to be hacked/modded like 3.03 in this thread. Any idea when it will be available?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Expired certificate. Success !!! I deleted everthing and started again the only difference was I checked the show letters box. I then saved as the hacked file back with the same name in same directory. I then copied this directory with its 2 files to the root of my memory card and deleted the .bak file. I the installed by selecting file with vivaz file manager.
Hopes this works for you fabris.

    ReplyDelete
  23. ok everything works fine now, i had the offline internet mode on and that was the problem..may i ask something..stupid now?? is the gps working like a-gps or are there any charges applied??
    thanks a lot!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. george there are no charges applied if you have loaded the maps into your memory card.when on online internet mode you search for a destination then only internet data charges will be applied.

    ReplyDelete
  25. currently there is no hack for the 3.04 version. only nokia devices are supported.

you have to extract the files by using winrar application.then open and sign the application.

Please change the file name when saving the signed file. then you dont have to worry about the .bak file

The certificate error message happens because you have not signed the application using the new certificate. you have to first sign the licence manager then the nokia ma

any help would be greatly appreciated

  34. Hi there,

thanx for the great effort u r making here.

I've successfully installed this on my vivaz, and it works fine, except for the gps signal, which is very weak and slow. If I already loaded the map, I don't need internet connection for it to operate, don't I? What do I do now?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Dear Glen you have to first sign the licence manager first then the nokia maps.then you will not get the certificate error.

Julie ann you do not require the internet connection to operate the maps once you have loaded the map files to your phone using map loader or directly copying the map files to the memory card.you will have to wait for the gps to lock, it will take a few minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  36. A can´t install... same problem as Glen. Yes I have signed the license manager first then tha nokia maps.

My certificate works fine. A have´d use it for many other apps..

It's installed successfully, but when i start it closes again.

    Glen You are welcome..

  42. Thanks for sharing this trick . Great work!

It works fine on my Satio. I downloaded the map files using nokia map loader. But there is a problem with the GPS. My location is stuck to one place no matter where I go. When I try calculating a path , it does get calculated and the path is shown. But the message "Waiting for GPS" never disappears . I have tried waiting for 5-10 mins . The phone is unable to track me.
    Any solutions...?

  48. Hi,
I have ovi maps workin on my satio quite well, i think my worn out nokia 6110 navigator is possibly better but this is better than expired wisepilot....
only questions are if you have maps for another country loaded how do you access those maps? does the phone refer to the new country map automatically?
this program is very glitchy it showed a left arrow but spoken direction was stay to right !!
    lucky i knew where i was !
plus you can only search one destination per use eg you have to exit and reopen ovi maps to search a different destination
is the newer version able to be loaded over the top of this version and retain hack?

  65. While I appreciate that you found a way to do this, I am plagued by "Certificate Error--Contact Supplier" for my Satio. My cert is from OPDA, only a month old, and using it successfully with other apps.
I'm sure that I'm following the step-by-step properly. Tried to get a new cert from where Fredrik says, but it wants a confirmation code which I know nothing about.
    Ideas?

  67. Hi, help please! Installed and got the OVI software running etc but can't get GPS signal. It's stuck on waiting for GPS signal (one yellow bar flickering away like mad). I have left the phone outdoors for over an hour and still no signal. I have tried selecting integrated GPS, and network individually or together in my location option but still no signal. Any ideas? I'm with Three network in Ireland and they can't seem to help. Is it hardware problem?

  68. Hi saroj. I went to opda, deleted old cert and key, applied for new, which arrived immediately, downloaded them and found them to be 1kb larger then the old. Re-downloaded Ovi Maps from the link above, un-rared, and opened with extsis.
Deleted the signatures and checked--no signatures.
Deleted the old profile and made new with my new cert and key. Opened the new profile, clicked License Manager which showed 0 Signature, clicked Add Signature, a moment later the License Manager showed 1 Signature. Clicked Nokia Maps which showed 0 Signature, clicked Add Signature, a moment later it showed 1 Signature also. Shut that little signing window, noted that in the extsis main window both the License Manager and Nokia Maps now had new signatures. Saved As with a different name. Drag/dropped in Satio Phone Memory "Others", went to Satio, located and tapped it to install. After a coupla' seconds, same "Contact Application Supplier. Certificate Error."
I "think" I'm not overlooking anything.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Holy OMG--it works!!! I opened maps, deleted the signatures, signed ONLY the License Manager, and saved as. Then I used signer.exe to sign the whole package. Copied it to phone, and then when it installed, it installed both compnents. Maybe it was a fluke. I don't want to test by re-installing. Maybe it was just from the interim save? Dunno.
For those who think they want to try this method, signer.exe is in a package of signers downloadable from http://ul.to/5ygz2t, and I found it on http://www.nokias60v5.com/sign-applications/
As I say, don't know if it was a glitch or what.
Maybe saroj or Admin have an idea.
    Thank you all.

“ Certificate error ..please contact supplier” during installation each time... I removed the program file from the storage card and tried to put it again after following all possible combinations mentioned in various posts. However it didn’t work and the same error came every time. Most probably it does not work with the latest Vivaz firmware. Any help or suggestion will be appreciated

  119. First check to ensure that you have a voice selected. To do this, when in Maps, click on Spanner>Navigation>Drive Guidance. You will now see a list of voices. The ones with a little phone icon to the left are the ones already installed on your phone. Make sure you have one of them selected. Note there is a different voice setting for drive and walk.

Second thing to check is the navigation volume. After you start navigation, use the the volume up toggle.

  120. Hiya, i have an important question. I have nokia maps on my 5800 so im very familiar with it. I have it installed nicely. Im from the UK and when i try to navigate to a destination, i enter a post code and it says not found. This happens with ever post code i try, It will however let me choose my destination with a village name. This is pretty crap to be honest. In the search box it says pizza or paris.....

On my 5800 with ovi maps 3.04 i can use post code search fine, anyone else have this problem as SURELY you navigate via post code rather than "drive to paris"

Thanks for any advice. I cant install 3.03 to my 5800 as the built in one is a version higher now. Haylp!

  123. At me it is impossible to enter the login/password for synchronization with Ovi. In prior version (54) there was a window and all data there were entered. Here there is a window for login input (there the data is entered) and a window for password entry (And HERE HERE the DATA NOT PROBABLY IN ANY WAY to ENTER). At somebody it turned out to be synchronized with OVI?

  124. Great, work fine, but I like to add some info:

your new Sys file must be copy on "installs" folder on mem. card on SE Vivaz phone, if not, it is no visible at all, and ovi maps cant be installed. After copying is done, open Settigs, program menager and start instalation .

To sign the sis file, I need to have a certificate and key file first for my phone. As explained in your post 'Get You s60v5 certificate and key form OPDA.' I have entered my phone type (Vivaz Pro) and IMEI, but the 'STATE' stays on 'Applying' for over a week now.

    Can you help me?

Thanks for the tutorial, worked perfectly. The only difficulty is that the program is not in my language, Portuguese of Brazil. I've done to change the language of navigation for the Portuguese of Brasil in Navigation > Voice guidance, but the menus and other texts are still in English. Could anyone help me?

I am not sure if it is a problem of Ovi Maps or if it depends of the cracked version of the software...

Install Ovi map. go offline, and dont open weather from main menu.! good luck.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Hi,

first thanks for your great work.

But, unfortunately I have some problems with ovi maps.
When I enable the option online, then ovi maps will exit after a few seconds. And then all the time I start ovi maps it quits after three seconds or so, not even enough time to set the option back to offline.
But it shouldn't have something to do with Bluetooth, because it's switched off at my vivaz. Can it have something to do with the connection, because I only connect via WLAN at the moment and not over mobile net?

The second problem is, that it takes up to ten minutes and more till I get a gps signal, and it often gets lost.
And one time the navigation screen freezed. After stopping navigation an starting it again it was okay again.
All in all it's a bit unstable on my vivaz, may it be a hardware problem, or is this normal, or a software issue.
I actually debranded my vivaz before installing ovi maps, should I do a update again, to reset the phone and install everything new?
Does the number of installed maps affect the performance
of ovi maps, because at the moment I have installed hole Europe as a map.

Would be pleased about some feedback.

    ReplyDelete
  184. @Joe: We are all having your first problem. Seems like when you go online the first time the Nokia server kills the app, don't know how. the best is to load the maps with maploader and not go online.

Your second problem: Don't think you should reinstall firmware. Just see if agps is on, seems like yours is off (check that the server is set up, and that it uses an access point)

    ReplyDelete
  185. Okay, so I will reinstall ovi maps, that it works again.

But to the second problem I have to say, that also if AGPS is not enabled and it's pure GPS, then it should not at all take up to ten minutes to get a signal, which was still not good and not at all stable. The signal was lost from time to time again.
I have a PDA (Asus MyPal 696) which has a GPS receiver and it takes sometimes up to three minutes to get a signal, but this device is already known to be slow in getting a signal to work with. And this device has no AGPS.
So ten minutes is absolutely inacceptable in my eyes. And as long as I don't have a data flat I will not enable AGPS.

So do you guys think that ten minutes is okay to get a GPS signal?
Is the Vivaz known to have problems with the GPS receiver?

    ReplyDelete
  186. @Joe: don't know about 10min, in open air should be less, BUT do not expect a fast lock. the module in phones is not that powerful as in dedicated devices. I also have a Nokia E71, and without agps it takes a lot of time to lock, and sometimes it does not lock... This is only my own experience

    ReplyDelete
  187. in first run it works correctly but after that, it breaks up! what shoud i do? i have a vivaz and it software version is: 1232-1985_R2CA024

Crash after few seconds ''PROBLEM SOLVED''

1 install ovi maps nywhere on mmc or phonememory
2 after installation go to offline or flight mode which disconnect u with any networking source
    3 open ovi maps
4 accept terms and use maps offline
5 now copy maps to mmc using maploader enjoy.....

If u use online mode nokia will recognise ur phone as nonenokia phone nd disable ovimaps to work...
    So nvr go online
    Cheers
